Cane creek hubs

Anybody know of anywhere that sells those cane creek hubs that had the "nipple at the hub" honeycomb design? I know they were never sold separately to begin with, and now that Cane creek no longer makes wheels they are likely fairly rare, but I'd be willing to buy a whole front wheel just to strip it for that awesome hub, if only I could find somewhere to buy one.

Might help if I knew all the various wheels it came on. I think the Track V's and a handful of others?

why do you want to have just a hub? you have to have the right wheel too to make a wheel out of it. and the right nipples and the right tool... it's pretty dismal actually if you want to make a wheelset. have you called cane creek?

they aren't sold seperately and you can't get them new anyway so you're out of luck.

The reason they were only sold as a full wheel is because the system required a very unique spoke and rim. You cannot use any standard rim with the hub.

Straight pull spokes aren't unique and quite a few rims can run them. If I remember correctly the front hub was 24h 2x, which just about any rim that can use straight pull spokes will be able to do just fine. Am I missing something?

The spokes run "backwards", in that the nipple is on the hub end, so the rims need to be able to accommodate the spoke head at the rim.

From Cane Creek's website

[h=2]Can I replace the rim on my Cane Creek wheel with another rim?[/h]Generally, no. Our rims have a small custom drilling in the rim wall, and no other rim will do.

i own a set. the clinchers at least use velocity aerohead rims and straight-pull sapim cx-rays. cane creek confirmed both at a time they needed service. they did not mention the custom rim drilling, but I can see how that might be necessary. curious...i'll go measure.
