Help with frame size for the new guy?

Hey everyone, I am looking into getting a single speed, and I just found a pretty decent one on craigslist. However I do not know what size I need. The last bicycles I bought were bmx. This specific one is listed as "58cm/23" with 32.5" standover" I am 5'6" or 5'7", is the bike way too big? Also any opinions on Kabuki's? I look forward to hearing from you all !

To answer your question, that bike is definitely going to be too big for you.

But do look into the fit calculator and figure out what size you really need.

Beat Jaytron to the punch, eh?

Well for your specific question, even without the fitment calculator, that bike is probably gonna be too big. I'm 5 9" and had a 57cm that was too big. But if you check out that calculator, you'll see fit is not just about the frame size and standover (two very important things), but more specific things like the top tube length, stem length and angle, and so on.

Definitely way to big for you, with your height, I reccommend a 50 or 52cm bike, and maybe, just maybe a 54cm. I am 5'8 and 54 is like a just right size, with no seat raises or anything. If I had a choice, I would take a 52 or 50 and just riase it, but the one I bought only came in 54 or 56.
