Yup.

I have Nashbar "Bullbars". I wanted to try a pair of bullhorns, before I commited to something more expensive. They fit the bill.

I haven't had any bad experiences with the bullbars, I thought they would have more flex than they do, because they looked cheap out of the box.

Now that I know that I like the bullhorn bars, I'm definitely going to a better quality bar in the future.

If you know you are comfortable with bullhorn bars, I'd go with the Nitto bars.

Nittos are not over-priced (depending on where you buy them, of course).

Nitto stuff is pricey for a reason.

Proud owner of Nitto RB021. Definitely worth the $50 I paid (silver).

Get them. You can easily resell Nitto stuff if you don't like it.

But if you were on a real tight budget, no you don't need Nitto bars. But damn it sure feels good hanging on to them. They look real pretty too.

What do you guys recommend for trying different handlebar styles? Is there a way to try before I buy?

Just to add what others have already said, Nitto gear is worth the price tag.

Thanks for that! So awesome. I want to work there.
Also, this pic makes me wonder what Japanese herb is like. I mean come on, those dudes look a little cheeched, right?

Heh, that's "new guy" on the right. Can't handle his **** like the vet on the left.

Nitto is better because Japanese people are short.

Yes. Go to a well-stocked bike shop and handle what they have on-hand.

Unfortunately, buying the perfect handlebar, saddle, etc... on the first try is rare. They come in SO many shapes and sizes that it's inevitable that you may like something now then like something better down the road. That's just how it is.

Make the best decision with the information you have at the time and have confidence in that. Don't be bummed if you find something you like better later.

In my experience: my Nitto bullhorns flex a lot less than an Origin8 bullhorn I had years ago. Thats a reason enough for me.
However you don't need to drop the last of your dosh on brand new Nittos. I remember scoring a an almost new Nitto RB021 on Craigslist for $25 and it already had the curled tips chopped off, which is a bonus IMO.

To add what carleton said - also, what might feel good at the bike shop while testing for the few minutes around the block might not feel good in the saddle for over an hour. Unfortunately, it is a trial and error process. However, most items can be sold online to get some of your money back.

+1 on the not flexing. I forgot to mention that in my last post. Riding home today from work, I REALLY torqued on my RB021's hard from a red light and it felt awesome cuz there was zero flex. Versus my stock bars which were like wet noodles in comparison.

BUT, I like those little tips. I wouldn't cut them off. I use them when I really want to stretch out and get low. I don't grab them, but I put my thumb webbing on them pretty good.

I have had Nashbar Aerobars, Origin8 bullhorns, Nitto RB-018s, Nitto RB-021s and Nitto RB-002s.

The Nittos are noticeably stiffer and the fit/finish is superior to the other brands.

The shape of the RB-002's is amazingly awesome.

Too bad I don't ride bullhorns anymore.

Man I didn't even know there was a Nitto RB002

Dead sexy. Probably would've chosen them over the RB021 if I had known.

If you bought from scrod, you would not have made that mistake.

Ah, so I lied. Because I did buy from Scrod.

Truth is I bought the most affordable set of Nitto horns.
