Velocity Fusion

Trying to upgrade my wheelset...I was thinking with going with the velocity fusion, so that I still get cool look but little less weight than the Veolocity Deep-V....Anyone have the fusion on their bike? and what they think about it?
I still have the stock rims on right now

there are better choices IMO such as the Kinlin 270 and velocity a23, but if you want colors the fusion is a solid rim

I have a Velocity Fusion as a rear wheel. I got it to match the "Iro Cold Fusion" front rim on my Mark V. The IRO was either a rebranded Velocity, or the exact same specs...could never get an exact answer. I have the silver machined.

Anyway, the rim is fine, and I'm not light. It's been pretty bullet-proof for me. Taken quite a few hard potholes and curbs. Personally, I really like the way they look, not too deep. The Deep V's never really floated my boat. And the Fusions are much nicer in cross winds (which I have plenty of).

Not the fanciest rim, but serves me well right now.

And if I might be so bold...:
Unless you have a particular fancy color in mind, I think black rims with silver machined brake surfaces would be a good choice for that bike in your picture...

The stock wheels on my IRO have been fantastic. I heard they were rebranded Velocity Fusions, as well.

It seems like every once in a while, IRO gets their act together and manages to sell a couple wheel sets at pretty decent prices. Good luck with that, tho.

I was recently told by Scrod in another thread that IRO is kaput, so that may not be an option anymore...

Why doesn't IRO make a statement on their main page to keep from everyone having so many questions? To me, that would make the most sense, unless the owner working out of his garage wasn't sure how to do so.

Not sure. I just did a test, and the website will take you all the way to checkout if you add something to the cart. I'm guessing Scrod is a reliable source of info on this, but IRO sure has some issues if they aren't in business and still left their ecommerce operational.

But, maybe they're back from the dead?

i can tell you for a fact that you can successfully order from iro's website. the final step that Face Palm did not take is paying thru paypal & it works. i got some parts from him a few months ago - they did arrive but delivery was very slow. Tony did respond to my emails that had my order# in the subject line concerning the delay.

unfortunately iro is not back from the dead, it is as good as dead...RIP

apparently he's disposing of left-over inventory in his spare time & just is not interested in exchanging emails or offering customer service unless one has actually made a purchase. if you are willing to put up with that & fit any of the sizes that remain, imho the framesets for $199 ain't a bad deal.

My condolences! My Capo got stolen earlier this year. But, the thief got cold feet and returned it to my porch about five days later, right after I bought a steamroller to replace her!
