seatpost question
Converting a road bike I found in the trash (Free Spirit). . . but I can't find any info about what size the seatpost should be. PLEASE HELP!
|
take it to your Local Bike Shop and have them measure it with calipers. It's also possible that if you remove the post, it may be marked with the size.

Not to bum you out or anything, but Free Spirits are old, extremely crappy bikes sold by Sears. I know this because a friend dumped one on me. The only part I could use was the drop bars which I cut and turned into bullhorns. - most everything else is nonstandard/hard to find. I think you'd have to look for BMX parts for most replacements.
But... If you really need a seatpost, I have one from my free spirit, but it's at my parent's house. I can see if they can find it. |
calipers are for sissies. real men use seatpost sizing rods!

Yeah, I know it's a crappy bike, but I'm using it to commute and nothing else, so no biggie. PLUS I found it in the trash. . . thanks for the help
