here it is... my first fixed

well apart from the finishing touches, like somebar tape and a front brake, she is ready. and i'm pretty convinced i need a front brake, running around without one was cool but for practicality on the road there is no other option for me

I still dont understand the shape of the chainstays. they look straight
from some angles but bent from others?

mrwhite 01-16-05 08:33 PM

bloody hell - put some plugs in those bars before you give some stranger a stomach op they didnt ask for.

Perhaps this will happen when he installs the bar tape, as mentioned above.

ahh you guys have put a big smile on my face on an otherwise rubbish monday morning.
techone, all going well i'll be at cm

yes the chain stays are bent (intentionally), a bit like s bend chainstays but less drastic.

ceya, the fork is safe, i'm gonna get a no frills straight blade cro mo fork from bike fix to sort out the braking duties. just one thought- on the pace suspension forkd they had removable clamped v brake mounts, i might see if i can design one for track forks to run some canti's on

the frame was made by the raleigh special products dept, the main decals on it said DYNA-TECH and it is made from bonded reynolds 736 (i think that's the right number) tubing.

oh and i cant belive how strange my legs feel now, how do you guys manage to walk ever?

salmon

You will soon learn to LOVE that feeling! ;) Oh and that's a B-utiful bike. There's something about the stark, simplicity of a fixie that just gets me where I like to be gotton.

You might be able to get a brake for that fork.

Nice head badge...

one is meant to be a bay tree, but intermitant watering and abuse from the wind have left it a bit sad...

salmonchild 02-08-05 10:38 AM

so new fork installed and it's not too bad. front has gotten a bit more twitchy but still a nice ride.

these pics are the last before the brake goes on..... oh and yes, i am trying to steal wk's crown as king of the crazy saddles- i have to put sunglasses on before i approach it...

hot pink all the way. all need now is the maching jersy- just have to look out for some hot 90s fluro garb.

congrats on the modship if that's what the blue star means- although i wouldn't be suprised if my eyes were deceiving me after looking at my saddle...

Jesse M 02-08-05 11:53 AM

looking good. i spotted a very 80s or early 90s bmx top tube protector in my LBS, that was white with a hot pink and blue design for $1. i can pick it up for you, if you'd be interested in having something to match the seat.

techone 02-08-05 12:17 PM

Hot!

operator 02-08-05 12:35 PM

Damn that looks really good.
