thanks for looking.

...after months and months of saving, sourcing and finding parts, i just built this up. it's my daily rider here in amsterdam. shouts to infinity express messengers in amsterdam, and wrenchscience in berkeley, california.

Msngr 01-17-05 10:47 AM

pretty hot. be careful locking up.

habitus 01-17-05 10:49 AM

that frame is pristine. where'd you find it?

and what's going on in the first picture?

great bike; thanks for sharing!

2manybikes 01-17-05 10:49 AM

Very, very, nice.. How's that seat? That bike is beautiful!

...'nother shot...

Surferbruce 01-17-05 10:53 AM

absolutely beautiful. don't ever let it out of your sight....

165mm_49_16 01-17-05 10:55 AM

thanks.

the first pic i shot at central station, in amsterdam. it's NOT a photoshop job --it's my bike on top of the rear-racks of some of the THOUSANDS of bikes parked there on a daily basis!

fogrider 01-17-05 10:57 AM

wow! do you ride it on the street w/o brakes? I know it can be done, but I certainly not there yet.

ostro 01-17-05 10:58 AM

From what i have heard about bikes in amsterdam, i would be very afraid to leave it anywhere out of my sight! Its a beauty!

adamkell 01-17-05 10:59 AM

that's gorgeous -- one of the most beautiful I've seen posted here.

there was a thread a couple months ago that makes me think you'll never be able to lock that bike up outside. hm, verb tense.

is this your daily ride or track only? [edit] nevermind [/edit]

165mm_49_16 01-17-05 11:10 AM

the irony of things is that in the 6 years i've lived here, i've probably had 20-30 bikes jacked in amsterdam --all absolute hoopties bought for like $5-10 a piece. there's probably only 10 to 15 fixed gears in a city of over 1 million bikes and i think the average junkie would get a maximum of 5 feet before getting thrown over the bars, leaving the bike on the side of the road and simpering off to score more dope...

ink1373 01-17-05 11:22 AM

yeah, but now that you've posted it here, i'm sure someone is buying a plane ticket to amsterdam to steal it.

From what I have seen in A'dam... I give that bike about 5 days on the street. oh man, that thing is just too pretty, dont let it out of your apartment!

My friend lives out there on Oude Shanz Rd, not too far from the central Station, he had a few bikes jacked when the person just came and carried them away. Unfortunatly, bike parking is limited (due to thousands of bikes all over the place).

Anyway, Amsterdam is beautiful, but I wouldnt ride anything out there that cost more than 10 Euro's bought from a junkie.

turd 01-17-05 02:03 PM

word, garrett!! glad to see you finally representing up in here :D all, let me tell you that i've seen that bike in person and it sure is a rare beauty. can you break down the components for us?

Fugazi Dave 01-17-05 02:30 PM

Hotness.

hella 01-17-05 03:57 PM

isotopesope 01-17-05 04:34 PM

That sure looks like a photoshop job. Funny for you to point out that it isn't, without anyone even asking.

How'd you get your bike to hover there? And how'd you light up just your bike to make it so much brighter than the others? Looks like it was dropped out of a white background, like the other pics, and pasted atop that pile.

Maybe its just me.

man, that thing is so hot it hurts to look at it.

ink1373 01-18-05 02:06 PM

maybe it's a big conspiracy, and he doesn't want anyone to know that it's photoshopped!

in fact, maybe the whole bike is photoshopped!

that'd be a brilliant waste of time. paranoid weirdo.

ink1373 = awesome. I was going to post reponding to this strange dude's claim, but I couldn't word it without sounding super aggro. Too much for the morning, you know.

bottom-bracket 01-18-05 03:00 PM

i kind of wonder if my (aspide) saddle would look carbony and cool llike that if i ripped the cover and padding off. the shell is CF...shouldn't it be similar underneath?
