Im love the look of single speed bikes and im getting into the hobby. I need your help. Im currently looking at a bike(pic attached) and the owner wants $500 (originally he wanted 600). Do you guys think its a good deal. The bike is in good shape. Its a 2009 Rocky Mountain Boroughs.

Step 1 - Be female and ask men for advice on a primarily men's webpage
Step 2 -
Step 3 - Profit

My 2c - Go cheap as you can, your interests may change. Bike seems fine. If $500 is no big deal then go for it. Otherwise cheaper may be better until you determine what you like and dislike about SSFG. There are better deals to be had.

Add in the cost of a brake or two if you plan on getting that one.

$600 could be retail if the thing was a brand new three year old bike. $500 seems reasonable for a brand new three year old bike.

$500 is way too much for that bike if it has been ridden for three, probably four, years.

Wasn't that about the retail price when new? Yikes.

Pretty big frame that 57cm.

The ad is in Edmonton, where bike prices aren't the same as in the US. The price is reasonable if the bike is in good shape. If it is well worn, notsomuch.

I agree w/ iTripped the used bike market in AB is pretty small. The price seems to pretty average for that caliber of bike, it's possible to maybe get a better deal, but you'd have to wait for a while or get really lucky.
