My frame is a very deep blue, very similar to the Park tools color. My build will consist of polished DP 18's, polished risers, silver and polished Eighthinch crank set, silver Promax seat post, etc. I am after a very clean and nostalgic look that still gets attention and is fairly bright. I was to run the Dia-Compe Gran Compe SS in brown because it is a nearly exact match to my honey Brooks saddle. Has anyone had any experience with these tires? They are a little pricey but look amazing with that saddle. My second question is about grips. I want to run something as close to the honey color as possible. I know Oury makes a brown grip but its not that close of a match to what I am after, is it? Does anyone know of a similar grip that comes in the honey color? Thirdly, let's talk chains. I am after something polished maybe, but I dont want it to be too bling-bling. Maybe a silver chain but I don't want to spend a lot of money as I will only be riding a few miles a day on this bike. I will be running a 1/8 drive chain by the way. Sorry for all the questions but I need answers! Thanks guys.

They are cheap, rubber, and look to be a pretty close match to the honey. But, do you guys think the sewn-on style elkhide would be a better choice?

or something that looks pretty cool on risers is Brooks leather bar tape. just wrap only the grip area and use the finish tape.

how about instead of searching for products only on the aesthetic appearance, you search for products that are durable and comfortable first. make that your first or primary criteria, then worry about appearance secondary.

you'll save yourself money and the hassle once you realize that your perfectly matching saddle is taint **** or your silver chain stretches within two weeks. and you'll look less like a noob when your bike is complete.

I've got some Dimension leather grips (about $15) that are quite comfortable - they should match honey well - I have a brown Brooks so they're lighter than my saddle

Thanks for all the responses. I actually ordered the rubber honey colored grips from Velo today as well as a KMC chain. I like where my build is going....I'll be sure to post pictures up when she's all finished!

Hi, I have been thinking about twinning my brooks honey saddle with brown dia compe gran comp ss tyres (great minds think alike), but just wondered how well the colours match? I have had the saddle a while but never been happy with black tyres. If you could send me a picture of your bike that would be great, or just let me know if they look good together! Cheers
