Can I make a SS out of a full suspension?

This question was just asked today by someone else.

But yes, with a chain tensioner and enough chain to allow the suspension to move there's no problem.

I had the same idea. Try to find an old unified rear triangel frame from the 90's. Something like the old schwinn homegrown. I think one of the big online retailers has a similar frame on close-out for like $200, I think it was a catamount (sp?)

I'm sure someone on here last year posted pic's of a cheap k-mart brand suspension bike that they made single speed, just an old beater, but it looked pretty good.

edit* here you go http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=72604

theres also the option of finding a full suspension frame with a concentric bottom bracket pivot and no pivots between the main one and the rear axle, then finding that perfect gear ratio or using an eno hub to get the chain tention right... or find a kona "a" frame... it was made for that...
