Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Is this worth the $$

https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...rome_paint.htm

Is this worth the money for my first fixed gear? I want something that's good quality but not to pricy. Is this a good buy or should I wait til the regular TT is available?

It's a good bike. If you want to order a bike now, buy that one. If you don't mind waiting and you want to save some money, wait until the regular is available. They're not vastly different.

Weight isn't a factor in bike fit unless you're really big.

Based on his limited experience with other frames, this 5'8" guy would probably get a 55 or 57.

Inseam matters very little when choosing a frame size. Why don't you use the fit calculator from post #7 and be done with the guess work?

Do you like a very aggressive more aerodynamic position for maximum speed or do you like sitting up a bit more and looking around at traffic and sights?
