In all seriousness, I would suggest you check out older bikes (C&V) with an experienced cyclist. Give the bikes a test run and see how you like them. I feel like nowadays, companies build crappy bikes and mark up prices just because "it's a fixie." Older bikes have different character and style, which is sweeeeet.

To the OP, go with the advice of going to a reputable LBS if you do not have any GOOD friends to help you through the process. If you have someone that is knowledgeable to help you, buy a complete bike off the Internet.

As I posted before on the PureFix, I'm going to recommend the Kilo TT now. Planning to get it in a couple weeks and sell my PureFix. Quite a lot of people here would definitely recommend the Kilo TT, and I would too.

It would be more helpful, I think, to describe what you dislike so much about the bike you do have, rather than discuss the potential of the one you don't have. I've seen quite a few of both in person and while I personally would never buy either, I think Purefix would be fine for a casual rider. Sorry, I'll get back to "sup"ing in just a few minutes.

They're heavy, but not terrible. Citygrounds also has an old model SE Lager for $300 which would be a significant step up if they have it in your size.

Agreed. Get the lager if it's in your size since the kilo is out of yor budget. The draft frames will probably be fine if you just want a fixed gear for recreational riding or commuting, but is (IMO) a significant downgrade due to being made with hiten I think.

The most important thing to do is get a bike that fits. You can work around most everything else.

SE's Draft bikes are probably on par with Purefix and Retrospec. If you do go that route, just please don't go with jackass color combos.

I know you guys said the SE draft larger is better than the SE single
What about the SE lite??
They only have 1 bike available thats the larger and im not sure if thats the one I want
so would Lite be better or Single?

They have the 2012 Draft Lite on sale for $250

I would take that '11 Lager if it's your size-
cro-mo frame, much better frame and components than the Draft Lite (or draft) for only $50 more.
It's also 3lbs lighter, which is pretty significant.

*the Draft is a coaster brake bike and Draft Lite is a fixed/freewheel flip flop hub w/ rim brakes.
