Most comfortable road drops...

So since my last thread got almost 100 replies and 1200 views, with literally no actual response as to which bars are the most comfortable/stable, I will ask it again?

Basically most people have been saying two bars the most.

3T Erganova's and FSA Wing Pro Compact's.
Which, to you guys, are the most comfortable in terms of every aspect (drop, reach, etc)?

I also want other options too.

Don't make this a repeat thread where you bring up other one's, come on guys haha.

THIS IS ABOUT ROAD DROPS NOT TRACK DROPS.

Soma Highway 1s

Chelseaandannoy 09-25-12 09:30 PM

Oh and btw, I wound up buying the Cinelli Mash bullhorns and have been riding them for a few weeks and love them. Picked up a front brake as well, although I only got it for my knees, considering I like them and need the to continue biking haha.

So now I own Nitto B125AA's, Cinelli Mash Bullhorn's, and LDG Risers. All I need now is road drops...help me out.

Dammit hahaha, seriously the only three options I ever read are the two stated in OP and these.
So, ****, which ones are the best?

hamfoh 09-25-12 09:32 PM

I have 3T Erganova's on my track bike and FSA Wing Pro Compacts on my roadie. Both are awesome, you can't lose

Mumonkan 09-25-12 09:36 PM

ive only used deda rhm 02 but i love them, changed from origin 8 bullhorns

milkbaby 09-25-12 09:37 PM

Both the Ergonova and the Wing Compact work great for me. I think the FSA bar has more straight drop coming back which is nice to have for even more hand positions. FYI, I have relatively long fingers on a medium sized hand if that taras is useful.

I had someone give me these as an option yesterday in a thread.

Which are more comfortable as far as drop, reach, and flat top? The problem I had with my Nitto's was the lack of flat top (obviously on track drops). I needed something wider and flatter, hence why I went with Cinelli Mash horns BUT I like drops better ha. So I'm looking for something super comfortable.

Huh?

At this point, go with the one you like. Even users who have tried both will disagree as to which they prefer.

Nagrom_ 09-25-12 10:01 PM

Wait, you ask us what the best are, there is an overall consensus that narrows it down to 3, and you still don't think you have an answer?

what the ****?

What's your favorite color?

Body proportions/flexibility and bike purpose vary, eh? Good for you may not be good for me. Long arms & flexible...you'd probably like more drop/reach. I'm neither and like my short/shallow Deda Zero100 (RHM bend) very much.

Too little data and too many variables (bar angle, hood position, rando or race...to name a few) to get a quality answer. See a fitter or actually try the bars on your bike if you want relevant info maybe?

Really? Bars are almost like saddles. You got the popular ones, now choose the one you think looks cool.

seau grateau 09-25-12 10:35 PM

I like IPAs.

....I didn't get anything ahah. I didn't even chose these bars, nor did I present them. No need for elitist tone.

I know this! I am just asking for opinions haha. I know people are going to all agree/disagree with each other on all three of these options. I just basically wanted to see a general consensus on at least one/two of them. A lot of people say the FSA are more comfortable because of the flatter top, but then people like the 3T's.

I just want something I can use a lot, like pushing lots of miles, but staying relatively comfortable (hands mostly, considering I know most of it has to do with your bike being fit to you).

So elitist, it makes me wanna quit BF. And quit BFSSFG. And quit cycling. And potato chips.

Probably the beer I dislike the most. Something about hops, I never willingly buy IPA's.

GENESTARWIND 09-25-12 11:21 PM

i have nitto b111's. i enjoy them. bar tape is all ripped up because of drunken falls and dropping bike while walking it drunk lolol.

TheRealFaux 09-25-12 11:21 PM

I use Soma Hwy1s because they fit my quill stem and I didn't want to shell out for Nitto M106 compact bars. I have never used the FSA or 3T bar.

And you will never get a definitive answer to your question.

Much like the way I never willingly buy Nitto B15AAs or Mash bullhorns. It's true, bars are a matter of personal comfort. Personally, my best experience with a drop bar has been the Salsa Short & Shallow ergonomic drop. That doesn't mean you'll like them.

And don't quit potato chips, they're so good. (my favorite are the Herr's kettle cooked jalapeno flavor if you're interested)

I am flexible, that's not the problem. I'm also skinny and I have pretty long arms so it isn't about any of that ha. I prefer a pretty nice drop but the reach doesn't have to be too crazy. Someone told me I should go for Nitto Classic Road drops because they have a super close reach but their drop is 140mm.

The B125AA's are a little nutty, the Cinelli Mash horns are the nicest bars I've ever had to this day. Comfortable, beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, light, and just all around nice. I just want some road drops also, just because I actually enjoy riding drops.

Chelseaandannoy 09-26-12 12:01 AM

I feel like most people are moving towards compact drops, rather than classic round and ergo. I guess they are more comfortable? I mean I love the Cinelli Vai drops but basically all of the compact bars are around the exact same drop/reach and most of them are the same price, excluding carbon and such. I guess I'm just going to have to choose a brand haha.

evilcryalotmore 09-26-12 12:04 AM

deda rhm 01 and 02 are nice,

Ha, once again, more compact drops. Ok, guess I'm going compact, now I just choose between FSA Wing Pro's, Deda RHM 01's, and Erganovas.
