slime tubes?/
 

I was wondering if any of you run tubes with sealant and if ive youve have positive or negative reviews on them.
Just looking at ways of preventing flats on my 14 mile ride to work. Especially since sometimes i leave right at the last minute and it only gives me about 15 minutes to change and clock in for work.

My ride is a downward slope, i woudlnt consider it down hill but ****, i pick up speed and spin out easily sometimes on 48/17.
getting a flat 20mph plus isnt something i want or being late to work.

Dude, just get better tires. I honestly can't even remember the last time I got a flat.

I have tried them only because I needed a tube once and it was the only thing available at walmart at two in the morning. It didn't work. It got another flat almost immediately and got green stuff all over the tires. It was however a better experience than the time I tried to use the automobile sealant stuff to fix a flat which resulted in green stuff covering myself and my bike.

ive ran fortes, kendas, conti gatorskins and got flats like 3 to 4 times a month on the gators and recently the sidewall was slashed via a rock small as your thumb.

I replaced it with a michelin krylion, picked it up for 28 bucks. was my back tire if that matters, so far goddamn it rides like a dream and i feel tons faster, we will see how it lasts.
supposedly the michelin pro 4 endurance replace them, if it works out ill replace the front gator with one of those.

i honestly dont know... i asked you about armadillos, because ive had so many friggin problems with gatorskins even though my friends and reviews on forums say they are going miles and miles without flats but not me. **** conti

and i was going to get the ribmo like you suggested but i needed a tire immedietly. i couldnt wait because i can be on call. i couldnt order online.

You live in the desert. Running over cactuses (cacti) will do that. Scrod doesnet understand the life of a pioneer such as yourself, settling the wild west and all.

Slime is not the answer. I have never read a positive response to that product and I've been do

ing this since covered wagons.

Which reminds me - we never got flats zipping to work in our covered wagons. So that's the answer.

I know for a fact that wagons break down, then someone steals your ox, then you got dysentery. Happened to me all the time on Oregon Trail.

Rhinodillo tire liners.

I use these on my crappy tires that would go flat just holding a nail too close. I added these and have NOT gotten a flat yet.

On my way to work, I have to ride through 2 streets under road construction, then at my work they are building parking garages which means rocks are EVERYWHERE. Nothing so far....just a thought.

i picked up a bottle of slime and slopped some in a tube that had a few slow leaks. Mostly just gets green ooze all over the inside of your tire. Works great on the mountain bike, but I'm tempted to say it's the air pressure on a road bike that makes it a failure

Maybe try schwalbe marathon pluses, you can get them in 25 size

Do these things adversely effect ride quality?

Way back when I used those with gatorskin ultra hardshells, and thorn proof tubes.

I never got flats. but what is road? Ride was ****, on so many levels.

Tubes are irrelevant. You need good tires.

The best tubes dont mean **** when youre riding on a condom stretched around your rim

I use a bontranger hard case in the rear, and I've found tons of glass embedded in the tire and its never gone flat on me. It wasn't too expensive, but it was the best option my lbs had
