KHS aero geometry?
 

anybody know where i can find the specs for the old sloped-top-tube KHS aero? and no, they're not on the website. i'd like to know how the geometry changes with a 700c wheel as opposed to a 650c. those of you who own one, get your rulers out!

Me too. I have a 2000, *KHS Aero Flite 100 and was considering this exact modification. ICYCLES offer affordable 1", 650, forks. For ascetic value, I'd like to slap a straight blade on it.

Is there a variety of 650C tires to choose from?

Would, could, you utilize a high flange hub?

is there not enough clearance for the 700? I've got a similar frame and was tryna get the pros/cons of various wheels sizes.

(dont feel like running the Terry wheel atm)

Toe-overlap has come close to planting my face on asphalt a few times now. Also, it's my understanding the response (w/650C) becomes "traditional," more track like.

My real concern is getting the appropriate rake in regards to frame size. Hence, the original request/need for geometry.

what year is yours because mine is an '01 and I think that the angle is a little less aggressive than the ones from the 90's.

Thank you for your email. After searching everywhere I could think of, all I
could come up with is: head and seat tube angles are both 74º, 22 mm fork
offset, 425 mm chainstay length, 981 mm wheelbase. I wish I could be of more
help but that is all I could find.

I have KHS aero track with sloping top tube. I can't give you numbers, but I can tell that when a 650 cc wheel is put on; angle get steep, very steep. I put one on to get rid of the pedal overlap, but the drop was way too much. Anyways that wheel is for sale....so if you do decide to switch, let me know. It's used once...24 spoke, radail laced A-class 650cc w/ tire and skewers. Hope that helps.

Theres a few. Continental make tires in this size as do Michelin, IRC, Hutchinson, Vredestein etc. However a lot of the tires are geared towards racing and don't hold up to well on city streets. I have a Conti Gatorskin that is doing a champion job.

Larger SF LBS seem to have one or two tires at most, though most have tubes. Most of the large online retailers have them.

Oh and stay away from Kenda tires, sounds like they're not the highest quality. Mention this as theres a 650c version of this tire.
