Is this a thing...?

From an ad for some potentially crappy cheapish wheels on Amazon. Do people actually ride with the stem backwards, or is that a hilarious ad fail (or both)? :notamused:

Nagrom_ 09-28-12 11:25 PM

It's advertising that the frame can barspin.

BigglyPuff 09-28-12 11:37 PM

No matter what your post is about, the answer is going to be yes.

Vague titles FTL.

Aah, that makes sense. Are those wheels any good?

Nagrom_ 09-28-12 11:45 PM

good for what? sinking a boat?

sure.

cali_axela 09-29-12 12:03 AM

If the wheels sink a boat, it'd have to be a boat of significantly worse quality than the wheels themselves. I was thinking more about, you know... rolling well in a predictable fashion for awhile.

Nagrom_ 09-29-12 12:07 AM

point was that they're really heavy. boat anchors.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that is a thing of some kind. In fact, after looking at it some more, I am 100% certain.

xavier853 09-29-12 09:00 AM

I'm going to go ahead and say it is not a thing, just for the sake of opposition.

GMJ 09-29-12 09:11 AM

Does the particular exhibit thing-like properties?

striknein 09-29-12 09:44 AM

Can you touch it, or is it otherwise perceived?

GMJ 09-29-12 10:19 AM

Is its existence inherent in itself or dependent on our perception of it?

seau grateau 09-29-12 11:46 AM

This is completely a thing.

Nagrom_ 09-29-12 11:58 AM

Forget what I was talking about earlier, it was pretty late for me, was delirious.

That's definitely a thing.

Kayce 09-29-12 12:42 PM

How can one person imperically prove that this thing is in the world, making it a real thing, and not just a thing in one's own mind, making it just a mind thing?

I can see it, too, if that helps.

Scrodzilla 09-29-12 02:28 PM

Dude, please keep your mind away from my thing.

striknein 09-29-12 02:38 PM

How do I even know you're real?

Of course he's not real. He's probably just virtual.

Then you're asking the questions is it possible there is a mind-independent world as well as absolute certainty/proof.

****in meta dude..

Nagrom_ 09-29-12 05:20 PM

Definitely not meta, pretty sure it was a movie....
