Couple upgrade question...

Hey all,

I'm interested in purchasing a Windsor Hour from BD and maybe go for a couple upgrades during the process by switching out a few parts. I was thinking I could switch the crank, cog, headset, stem, and handlebars from the Windsor and buy an IRO build kit 2 (http://www.irocycle.com/irobuildkitv2.aspx) and use those parts instead, or would it be better / cheaper to individually upgrade the parts for the Hour? If so, what are some good recommendations in terms of upgrades?

Thanks!

IRO is hard to contact, im actually not sure if they're still in business.

that being said, why upgrade? wait for **** to break.

It's a broad question you're asking. Seems like you got a plan and did some research, but I would ride it first and see what you don't like. Then go from there.

Chances are it'll be the saddle, bars/tape, and maybe pedals.

Terrible plan, honestly. If you're going to buy a bike and immediately swap out the majority of the components, what's the point? Just buy a different bike. And as previously mentioned, you're basically not getting anything from IRO anymore.

Oh wow I didn't know that. And that's true, I guess I can only tell by riding it and letting parts be replaced through wear and tear. Thanks all!

Holy ****. He listened.

and if you've just gotta buy something, wheels are often the best place to start.
