Couple upgrade question...
Hey all,
I'm interested in purchasing a Windsor Hour from BD and maybe go for a couple upgrades during the process by switching out a few parts. I was thinking I could switch the crank, cog, headset, stem, and handlebars from the Windsor and buy an IRO build kit 2 (http://www.irocycle.com/irobuildkitv2.aspx) and use those parts instead, or would it be better / cheaper to individually upgrade the parts for the Hour? If so, what are some good recommendations in terms of upgrades? Thanks! |
IRO is hard to contact, im actually not sure if they're still in business.
that being said, why upgrade? wait for **** to break. |
It's a broad question you're asking. Seems like you got a plan and did some research, but I would ride it first and see what you don't like. Then go from there.
Chances are it'll be the saddle, bars/tape, and maybe pedals. |
Terrible plan, honestly. If you're going to buy a bike and immediately swap out the majority of the components, what's the point? Just buy a different bike. And as previously mentioned, you're basically not getting anything from IRO anymore.

Oh wow I didn't know that. And that's true, I guess I can only tell by riding it and letting parts be replaced through wear and tear. Thanks all!

Holy ****. He listened.
He ****ing listened. |

and if you've just gotta buy something, wheels are often the best place to start.
