What do you guys think of the new Kilo TT 2013?

It was in stock earlier this week with some adjustments from the previous Kilos. I'm in the market for a new bike, I think I'm going to be getting one.

Nagrom_ 10-05-12 11:29 PM

Never heard of it.

zazenzach 10-05-12 11:47 PM

somewhat disappointing

looks identical to previous years, only a $50 price hike and on top of that the headset and spacers dont match with rest of the bike

dafuq man?

edit- pedals and saddle appear to be higher quality actually.

Nagrom_ 10-05-12 11:51 PM

Higher price? They've always been 400.

Not that I can remember.

2013 Kilo = meh. the pedals/clips seem like an improvement over whats included with other kilos, but it's still probably crapola.

seau grateau 10-06-12 12:11 AM

They put a black turtleneck on it.

nevergreen 10-06-12 12:41 AM

Eh, nothing all that exciting. I'd ride it though.

dinobyte 10-06-12 01:33 AM

just make sure you "TIGHTEN YOUR LOCKRINGS, CRANKS, PEDALS ETC BEFORE AND AFTER EVERY RIDE"

TheRealFaux 10-06-12 02:58 AM

standard 144bcd now

jackss731 10-06-12 03:23 AM

what the...44/16??

I guess since its 144bcd now you can be even more hip and use your old chainrings.

jackss731 10-06-12 03:26 AM

AND water bottle cage bolts?! blasphemy.

anybody who rides a TT knows to learn how to NEVER drink water.

The Kilo TT craze on this forum is somewhat reminiscent of the Z. Cavaricci craze back in the 90's.

Fixed that.

The Difference is that Z Cavaricci still bangs. And what is KiloTT anyways - everyone talks about that around here like it's obvious.

Dude, Z.C. was going strong in the early 90's.

A Kilo TT is kind of like the Volkswagen of the SSFG community. IIRC, the word Volkswagen means "People's Car" and the original idea was to have a cheap and reliable uniform car for everyone to drive. Imagine the roads filled with nothing but VW beetles, every single person driving the exact same car. Sometimes I get the feeling that's what's about to happen in here, except with Kilo TT's.

To be clear, it's not a bad bike by any means.

The country of origin was not the point of my post :|

Scrodzilla 10-06-12 07:18 AM

They do come with sealed bearing hubs now, even though the new rims are probably boat anchors.

GENESTARWIND 10-06-12 07:37 AM

bat i figured youd have caught that, he was comparing the fact that VW bugs and kilo TT's where both cheap reliable and inexpensive and designed for the masses.

Not that they where german designed or made..

Mumonkan 10-06-12 08:13 AM

As much as everyone recommends kilos to everyone, the ony person ive noticed even having one is nagrom

Scrodzilla 10-06-12 08:14 AM

Can we talk about the new Windsor Hour instead?

Chain guards are sexy.

But are they cartridge? BD's descriptions are worth ****. The old hubs were also sealed

It's also sad to know that the Windsor has linear pull brake levers with caliper brakes. CANT STOP. WANT TO
