Bike Forums - Finished my first SS last night!

My 1985 Centurion Accordo had new life breathed into it, as I installed the brake cable and housing, and took it out for its first ride since I bought the frame earlier this month. I was only able to take it out for a short ride around the block, as it was 11pm and I had not even a rear blinkie.

All in all it was a great ride. I'm not used to the faster steering of this bike over my RockHopper, and the narrower bars. The front wheel needs truing badly, and the front brake was also out of adjustment. I need to angle the handlebars up a bit more (they are homemade bullhorns) and do a little adjusting here and there for fit, but I am VERY looking forward to getting to know this bike.

The only thing I will have a hard time with is the more hunched over position, makes me feel like I could flip forward at any time. Now if the weather would just clear up so I could ride the heck out of this thing!

Thank you to everyone who helped me out with all the questions I had about doing this for the first time. Also thanks to Sierra Cyclesmith for hooking me up with some used cranks, seatpost, and even cheap take-off pedals. Not to mention installing the BB and cranks for me at no charge, and some free brake hardware. I learned alot on this project and intend to do upgrade this one as time and money allow. Next step: Fixed.

PS- I weighed it with a fish scale (it was handy) and it weighs as much as a 23lb salmon.
