anyone riding Major Taylor style bars?
I've started to see more of these style bars around town. They are not Soma Major Taylors, the ones i've seen sweep down more. You really can't use anything but the drops but I have to admit, they look really amazing.
They look like this orig Major Taylor but not nearly as much crazy drop. Any ideas what type of bars they would be?

Just searching, the closest thing I could find is the Walker Racers... not sure if these are right though...I'm going to try and take a pic next time.

Ben's cycle sells a set of Major Taylor bars made by Kalloy....if you like being in the drops they are great. Otherwise they sucked....I mean seriously no play to put your hands

Yeah, the cool thing is the drop was not severe like normal track bars. True, you only have one hand position (the curves are extreme-impossible to hold) but they seem like basically upside down risers in that respect (shallow drop and short reach) like scrod said.
I have to get a pic of them because they just look really cool. I saw a Leader 721 w/ them and it looked sharp.. I want to try them...those Kalloys kind of look like it but not sure, thanks for the info.

eighthinch does something similar and a little more relaxed. I've got a friend with these bars but aesthetically, I'm not a big fan

Do you have a photo of your friend's bike? It's hard to tell from just looking at the bars but those could be it.
I love the look! lol
I guess they look more functional that track drops to me.

for short runs they were fine. I was doing a 5mile roundtrip 4-6 days a week and for that they were fine but anything else they SUCK. One hand position...and it bends you over a lot so if you don't want to be in a tuck all the time its not comfortable
