No, the cranks are off their road bikes. On the cranks, it used to say "9 speed" before I got some black touch up paint.

funny, I've seen it here and in several other posts: the division between "street" riding and "road" riding. roadies ride on "roads", fixers ride on "streets". Bikes not fit for "streets" are fit for "roads" and vise versa. nothing wrong with it but its really interesting concidering that we all ride on the same asphault covered graded surfaces.

I wish Lemond but his name on a better frame but it is a starter's bike.

After some miles on it, I wouldn't call this a starter bike. It may have road bike geometry (which I like) but I'm definitely biased. :)

I mean by starter bike ,it has brakes on it and you will ease out of them and go fully brakeless. I have a Panasonic from mid 80s ,it had brakes but I took them off once I got home and it had relaxed angles but not like the Lemond.

I saw one in Chicago today. At about State & Division locked up in front of a star-schmucks.

But yeah! Road geometry. Looks alright, but not for a street bike.

That means I'm still on a starter. :) I took off the back brake after switching to fixed but don't feel comfortable enough to go without the front. The cars at most stop signs here do rolling stops at best.

One of the baddest riders in DC is riding one. He seems to like it.

I didn't say the bike wasn't good. I personally don't like the way the look . I am too old skool i guess but each his/her own.

HAHA! I thought it looked awesome so I'm asking him and he says yeah he changed the bars and post (put them on his one of his nice bikes). He has four custom bikes, the Fillmore is a work horse. To a guy like me who doesn't ride fixed it stood out. Of course he removed the brakes.//

MSRP is $1000 but the LBS can get it for less if you talk to them.
