Did Trek drop the T1?

I can't find it on the site. I used to be here: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/track/t1/

I asked my local dealer that a few weeks ago and he said, "It's not available this year" (he looked).

On a side note - they are also a Felt dealer and the TK2 went up to $1900 this year.

Yup, Trek blood-sucking corporation no longer makes the T1. Bummer.

LesterOfPuppets 11-02-12 09:52 PM

They dropped their main XC MTB squad, too.

... and Lance.

it could also be possible they just put it up but don't actually have it in stock.

i haven't seen the 2013 t1 either and my LBS is a big trek dealer

mconlonx 11-04-12 11:04 AM

The T1 is not listed as a 2013 model on their website or in any of their 2013 sales literature. It be gone-gone. No close-out '12 models left, either.

Got rid of the lower end Soho IGH bike, higher end 26" mtn bikes, Belleville models, Sawyer. Orange '12 Earl also got dropped; new flavor '13 Earl is pink.

My rep told me they dropped it because they re-did their road line up and that's where the focus/funds were.

Why are the spokes so fat? Must be something new.

That's just the thinnest etch a sketch line possible.

That's rep-speak for "Fixed gear is SO over."

I still ride/race my 2008 T1 for road training and track racing. It was the last year they were made in the US. It's a shame they aren't making it all any more. It's a nice track bike.

If you can partner with Trek and continue making them, I'm sure you'll get lots of demand.

i had a 2008 T1, was great, but sized small, and some kid in LA i sold it to broke it doing wheelies

Kinda BS--they could have done the exact same bike, no extra development $$, just Bold New Graphics, and gotten away with it. My guess is that it just didn't sell for them. They got two ss/fg bikes in the lineup that are cheaper, and the District on the other side.

Maybe people are actually smart consumers and bought street oriented bikes, rather than using a track bike for street use. Heh. Nah, that can't be it...

Low sales killed it.
