tyre help please???
 

i have a 700 c wheels and the tyre's on them are 700 x 35 c they where the tyre's that come with them.
would 700 x 24c tyre's fit the rim?

Try 700 X 28's first.

What is the rims inner and outer width? If you don't know that, what rims are they?

700c by 35... the c is an old French designation for a wider 622 tyre where 622 is the bead seat measurement and there is no c after the second number which means the tyre is 35mm wide.

Your tyre will have a 622-35 marking which is the best way to measure tyres and the range of tyres that will fit your rim is dependent on the rim width.

I'm 99.9 % positive it will fit.

yup, it'll fit. the x-factor is whether the 35mm tires will clear your brakes.

FWIW - all of my parts distributors list tires as 650 or 700x__c in their catalogs and on their websites. Whether it's correct or not, it's easy to see why everyone makes that mistake.

what about all the 700 cubic centimeter rims

We are measuring tyres in cubits up here. I think it might catch on.

Oh, and to the question - I think you will be fine. You are not going to maximize performance, but you probably won't crash. But tell us the rim specs.

I'm only aware of the A, B and C designations. C is narrower than B which is narrower than A.

And Scrod is correct. The manufacturers and distributors have done little to clean up the confusion around various tires sizes. I just speak in BSD and mm width to try and avoid confusion, but that only works if the person you're talking to knows as much about tires as you do.

65er was correct. The original 700C tire was wider than the 700A and 700B. The issue is confused because we mostly see skinny tires on 700C rims. Same deal for 650C.
