?'s about spinergy rims
I've seen lots of the spinergy rims on ebay and have personally never seen them up close. Can they be used on track bikes. specifically the spinergy rev Xwheelset -700c tubular shimano. and how hard can i ride them if I'm going to ride them on the road. Thanks for any info.

hey dan, Marked001 rides with Spinergy wheels on his fixie, there are pictures of his orance bike in the stickey at the top.... anyway, from what I have been reading, Spinergy are not the BEST wheels to ride if you plan on doing a lot of skids and ride in the city. But thats just what people say to me.... and people say a lot of things. you are going tubular? |

I ride a rev-x rear. Some thoughts:
The spacing is 130mm. I took a grinding wheel to the hollow axles and shaved it down to 120mm. They are Q/R only. If you want to use a Surrly Fixxer on the Shimano cassette, you need to file down the pawls (I can't find the link. I think it's on FGG). With the thread-on freehub one, I had some problems getting a good chainline with my cranks. I am going to use one of those track adaptors for disc wheels (like these. $35 for just the adaptor). Anyway, YMMV. They sure look cool! |

marked001 is using the ol' locktite method though. and he rides brakeless, and skids. what a nut! but we all love him anyways

Nocoins, you are THE MAN indeed... I fear you and will try not to piss you off.
Going back to the thread... I was thinking about trying the rev-X´s myself, however I possess absolutely no mechanical skills and converting the freewheel hub into a fixed gear thing really scares me. You guys have to remember I'm not THE MAN like nocoins and stet :( |
