Best fixie to get from this site? Plus advice on fixie and pegs

https://www.citygrounds.com/fixed-gea...ustomer-review

Im new to the world of fixies but very aquatinted with bikes..

im look for something under 400$ and was wondering what the best choice is for me? id love it to be able to switch between fixed or singlespeed.

Also!

Since my lady doesnt ride bikes (i got a bmx bike, she refuses to ride it) I was wondering if it would be possible to have pegs, or something along those lines so i can transport us around if needed. And please dont suggest a cart.. ive seen people suggest them before.. also read it may **** up the axis.. anyway to prevent this or something?
Im around 125-135lbs
And shes about 115lbs

Appreciate the help.

A cart? You mean like people said to haul your woman around in a trailer? Rad!

I think I'd rather go Extrabike or tandem then have her riding back pegs.

You can usually get these for $400-500 on CL:

You could drop the peg idea and use the spare cash for bus fare.

Hahaha, and you think it's worse advise than hauling your GF in a "cart"?

OK, this is about as serious as I can get about this:

I suggest you convert an 80s touring bike with the longest chainstays you can find, otherwise your heels are gonna be snagging her toes all the time. If you're wearing slip-ons it's gonna take yer shoes right off.

So, what happens if you hit a pothole, or have to swerve suddenly? Girl goes flying. Why not just buy her a bike too? Or have her buy her own? And no matter what she weighs, standing on pegs will end up warping/bending your axles. Especially on a bike that costs less than $400.

And that disappointment you feel towards the forum, you sorta brought it on yourself. Just sayin.

Did you use the search feature? There are many threads about how we've modified our bikes to transport our ladies. I don't know why everyone is being so mean to you.

There is nothing nicer than a young man transporting his lady on his bicycle.

Get a BMX if you want to do that.

These bikes are designed to carry one passenger in the middle of the bike. If you want to carry someone on the handlebars or on the back with some "Buddy Pegs" then this is not the right type of bike. Sorry.

You asked for advice and we are offering it.

Im just trying to get a fixed cus i dont got time to be riding at the skatepark anymore. Mayb i cus teach her how to ride my bmx.. Which is a ***** to even sit down... doubt she'll like to stand up and ride everywhere like i currently do.

well, it sounds like you've got a good idea of where to go from here. you got some good advice in this thread along with some of the usual banter. i think carleton nailed it. i'm going to close it now, since the question is answered.
