Brougham/pista need your help, please!

Hi all,

I've been lurking for a while looking to find some info on a new fixie before I buy.

First of all ivenowned a cheap Japan no brand fixie for about a year so I know I like riding them, but its time to move up to something more substantial than my $150 junker.

I've test ridden both the fuji feather and the felt brougham as well as looked into other options such as the Raleigh rush hour and fuji classic. Basically I've searched the market between my budget and I'm aware of what's out there. At this point I've all but settled on the felt, however I came across a new white bianchi pista for $620. 50-80 more than the felt. I understand the choice should be obvious bianchi but I live in new york city and this bike will be locked outside while I go to bars or run errands. I'm afraid the bianchi will get stolen, and I won't have peace of mind while I leave it locked. How do you all weigh in?

Considering how often bicycles are stolen in new york city, I would definitely try to get a more economical model such as one of the offerings from bikedirect then a thief magnet such as a brand name bike.
$650 is also on quite the high side for a used pista nonetheless.

if you dont leave your bike outside at night...and simply for short amount of time as long as you get the best lock from kryptonite you will be fine.-- http://www.kryptonitelock.com/Pages/...PNumber=997986
Most of the time when bike get stolen is because they sit outside multiple nights in a row at the same spot. If you are not leaving it in front of bar over night get the better one, but spend the money on a nice lock also.

Why not get the nicer bike you want and keep the beater for times you need to leave it locked up?
