What he is saying is that most hubs will have a 10mm axle in the rear and a 9mm in front because that is the norm. Your frame follows that standard. Any 1/2 decent road or track wheel will follow that as well.

I dont see 10mm front axles very often and when I have it was with pretty cheap wheels.

fine ill use my original hub but its not going to look nice :(

Fine!

You just had a meltdown and said you were buying a new wheelset, now you're saying you'll use your old ugly hub. Which is it?

whatever fits and doesnt cost me $200

Just bring your bike into your local bike co-op and have them fit a set of 700c wheelset to see if they'll work with your frame and fork. You could also just use a set of 650c wheelset.

You have a fairly nice frame. If you can save up just over $100 there are some good wheelsets available, like these at Velomine

Are the bars too big for the stem?

cyberpunked 01-21-13 02:50 PM

they are but they are secured tightly...i will eventually change the stem, probably with a classic cinelli

sleepytor 01-21-13 03:10 PM

That was a lot of freaking out over nothing.

I wish you didn't paint the frame.

cyberpunked 01-21-13 03:19 PM

the frame was sanded down in areas before i bought the bike :/.... for $10!!! :D

That's not very nice. Often deforms bars a bit.
