Oh cool, how big was it? We had about 7000 people turn out for the Vancouver Bike Rave this past summer, biggest turnout yet.

It was pretty good considering it's October. I would guess 2500-3000. It's a monthly ride so the summers it might attract 5,000 people and in Dec we might only get 1,500.

Having it monthly would be fantastic. Ours is an annual event which usually coincides with Pride week up here which might explain the larger turnout even though we are a smaller city. Not much else going on here during the winter aside from monthly alleycats.

Ya, that was from San Jose Bike Party. It happens on the 3rd Friday of every month. There is also East Bay Bike Party which happens on the 2nd Friday and San Francisco Bike Party on the 1st Friday. And of course, there is Critical Mass on the last Friday. So basically, every Friday of the month, there is a party on bikes riding somewhere around the bay. We actually have a great bike culture here!

The c17 is a great seat. Very comfortable and waterproof. However, it will never be as comfortable as its tensioned leather brother, the b17 after it breaks in and becomes "your" saddle. I have a white cambium so fading isn't a problem for me but my roommates slate one has shown very noticeable fading. Over all its a toss up, pay the iron price with your ass for every bit of eventual saddle perfection and go with the b17, or pay the gold price and get instant gratification by picking up a c17. Knowing full well that your missing out on quite a bit of comfort down the road.

Are you really running it with that much saddle to bar drop as pictured? You having any pressure on the scranus region?

I do run it like that. The frame is a 56 which is on the smaller side for me so I end up sitting with my sit bones on the very back of the saddle where it's turned up a little bit. I don't feel any pressure on my tubes.
