Its pretty nice. I'm pretty sure the only differences between the regular and the plus are the wheels (plus has painted rims and cartridge bearings) and color choices.

Looks better with the polished box-sections and gumwalls, imo. Red and gumwalls work together

Here's my two singlespeeds. I use these for long rides with moderate hill climbing. I find SS climbing great fun, and the training benefits show when I ride my geared bikes on the steeper stuff later .

First one is a vintage Peugeot mixte that was professionally powder coated yellow and built up as a 42x17 singlespeed by Edible Pedal in midtown Sacramento. They are a bicycle food delivery service/LBS.

Since these pictures were taken I have removed the seat bag and handlebar-mounted bottle cage. I use my Camelbak instead. The bottle kept bouncing out of the cage when riding over rough pavement, and there are no braze-ons to properly mount bottle cages on the frame.





Here's a drivetrain-side pic. This was immediately after purchase, before replacing the heavy 35c hybrid tires with 28c Gatorskins, the grips with better-looking, more comfortable ones, and the pedals with ones that accept clips and straps.



Here's my 2009 Specialized Langster Las Vegas (left), bought a few days ago on CL. It has the stock 42x16 gearing. I replaced the worn stock chain with a gold one, the crappy Specialized All Condition tires with 25c Gatorskins, the Redline BMX pedals with ones that accept clips and straps, and the worn-out bar tape. Whoever had this bike before was very rough on it, as the paint was pretty scratched up. I took a Sharpie to the worst of it, and I'll have to touch up the fork and seatstay scratches later.

Previous owner replaced the stock front wheel with a Velocity Deep V. My riding partner (bike on the right) also replaced his stock rear wheel with a Velocity.

You are absolutely right. This bike is definitely fast with the 49/16 gears (but not so great for the hills around here). I have plans to put pedal straps and a front brake on whenever the parts decide to show up...

Why convert? That would make a kickass geared ride. At least a 1x7 or 8.

I don't usually like messenger chainrings on conversions, but it works really well on that.
