The best part is how neither of the cross tubes is round, leaving no way to mount anything to it.

Mounting solutions for those (and other) types of bars have become pretty sophisticated and affordable. You can buy a nice, high quality CNC machined aluminum alloy mount for that or round bars that has adapters for lights to underneath the computer mount so you've got lights covered too. Putting a bell on it could be a challenge though

Again I recommend K-Edge for these types of solutions. I use their products on some of my round-top drop handlebar bikes just because they're nice and tidy.

Having said that I agree that the bar is stupid . Like I don't get the point.
I do own two sets of carbon "aero" road drops flat tops and I like them. I don't know if it actually makes me faster in races or not but they make me feel fast and placebo matters.
EDIT: @seau grateau there is a loss of functionality in going to an integrated bar/stem combo, but they're also really cool. Plus if you stay healthy year in and year out your fit shouldn't really be that dynamic. I've been lusting after a Ritchey Solostreem for years now but they're too expensive and I can't warrant it.

Yeah, but still the options for fit adjustment out of the box are super limited. You get no choice in stem length or handlebar width, and from what I've read, height adjustment is limited to 15mm. Basically, if the bike doesn't fit you as is, you're mostly SOL.

you mean for that Canyon bike? other offerings from Ritchey, Vision, FSA, Syncros etc have multiple length and width options.

So here is the deal with this bar.
Remember that this is a gravel bike. The idea actually makes sense, even if the execution isn't perfect, especially lack of adjustment. Apparently some of the Germans who tried it say it is pretty good.

For compliance, Canyon says the tops of the bars afford seven times more flex than a traditional bar/stem combination. This is due to the absence of a stem clamped in the center of the carbon bar. Instead, the moderately oval-shaped ergonomic tops should flex more freely. This construction adds about 120 grams over a conventional assembly, according to Canyon.
Down below, where the lower bar joins the drops on either side of the integrated stem, the bars are stiffer, due to the reinforcement. Additionally, when your hands are in the drops, near the brake levers, you hook your thumbs over the lower bar, which distributes weight beyond the heel of your hand.

Yeah, I've read the theory behind it. Still strikes me as gimmick. I reckon we'll be hearing its name uttered in the same sentence as Scott drop-ins before long, but I could be wrong.
