I'd ride the hell out of it. My next bike will be a townie with mustache bars and a front beer rack.

From one of my area's myriad clueless CL bike flippers... one of the stranger brake lever set ups I've seen:

"Where should I put my brake levers? Is there way I could set them up so that they eliminate comfort in my primary hand position and are also completely impossible to reach?"

SpeshulEd 05-28-13 08:11 PM

Also, it that valve stem all bent to hell?

granted its a schrader valve, this is the reason i use the nuts on the valve stems

LesterOfPuppets 05-28-13 08:44 PM

You can get fully threaded schraeders with nuts.

Valve stem's not bent, tube just isn't situated so that valve stem is anywhere near colinear to a radius.

tried it once, took away all the feelin.

ribbed for my pleasure now

johnnytheboy 05-28-13 09:06 PM

smooth stems for lyfe
unless you're rolling toobless, you don't need a threaded stem.....

Dannihilator 05-28-13 09:08 PM

Threaded, my floor pump doesn't work well with smooth.

seau grateau 05-28-13 09:22 PM

Which is better for no handed trackstands?

Yeah, that's what I meant...apparently, I can't talk in logical sentences anymore, what the hell does "it that" mean. I need to proofread before hitting reply.

Seriously though, that doesn't seem good for the tube at all.

I have threaded and smooth and never had an issue with either. Whatever tubes are cheapest at the time when I need a new one. The $2 4 pack at competitive cyclist came smooth, so now I have 8 of those.

pencil tops work great on valve stems, just sayin'

That is actually kind of a cool idea. Unfortunate anatomical placement for the Orangutan though.

LesterOfPuppets 05-29-13 10:59 AM

I have the patron saint of rain rides on my rig today.

The cap serves no purpose on a presta valve once you take the tube out of the packaging. It is just there so the tube isn't punctured in the box.

I have changed over most of my bikes over to Schrader.

With nuts?

seanifred 05-29-13 02:27 PM

why is the nut there, even. all arguments i have heard don't make sense to me, especially with the existence of threadless stems.
