I love this synthwave/techno artist El Tigr3. How this guy can make mind-blowing bass sounds makes me hyped every time. I suggest song called 'Bleed The White' to start with.

OK I would be lying but I do listen to them quite a bit and this new cover session has been heavily listened to over and over and over the past few weeks. I like Bon Iver anyway so that was easy but honestly the Robin Trower cover just blew me out the damn dihydrogen monoxide:
https://aquariumdrunkard.com/2018/08...ountain-goats/

I really really really really really hope Johnny D. does way more stuff like this, I mean sure there isn't much from him I don't like but this was a real winner and fits right in but also doesn't fit in at the same time.

Been trippin' out on the Polonaises recently (woah man...). Opus 40 No. 1 in A major is triumphant, a real banger. Maybe I'll find some sheet music for it:

Thanks for posting that: a lovely surprise to hear it. Almost everyone does/did Hank, but it never crossed my mind that Louis Armstrong might have done so! He makes a completely different, but equally good song of it.

I listen to a lot of Hank Williams, Maddox Brothers, Charlie Feathers, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Sonny Burgess, Johnny Burnette and the like. No one can beat Hank Williams for the way that his songs have become woven into the fabric of music history, although Chuck Berry comes close. A modern band in the same hillbilly/country/rockabilly overlap that I like is Doug C and the Blacklisted. I also have a bit of a Motörhead habit.

Another cute little earworm in my favorite format, acoustic piano/bass/drums jazz trio. As much as I'm inclined towards the piano, this band (and track in particular) are really about the bass player and drummer as they're the ones who shine here.

This one has sentimental value b/c I used to enjoy the children's books when I was younger.

Been listening to a lot of Colter Wall over the holiday season...

And on the opposite side of the spectrum, a lot of Ghostmane:

Damn, BF SS/FG folks, y'all got some really interesting and eclectic tastes in music. My current listening choices are probably gonna come across as pretty pedestrian, but this is a bit of what I've been into lately:

Charly Bliss:

The Libertines:

Against Me! (side note, this may be my favorite video ever - love that it's all one shot with no cuts):

I have been listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin. I always have loved them but more recently I have been re-listening to their stuff and realizing how truly amazing they are musically. I could listen to John Bonham play for days and knowing him, he could have done it, R.I.P. Bonzo. Moby Dick for 2 whole days with a short intermission just for the audience...LOLOLOLOL!

Also have been playing Warren Zevon and Nine Inch Nails (mostly live stuff on the utoobs).

For the past while I've frequently thought of the pleasant steel/slide guitar lines in "Tangerine". I thoroughly enjoy lap guitar. As a fan of the sound I find this one truly indulgent, done by Jerry Garcia. That dirty hippie knew how to play!

That Charlie Bliss is pretty rad. She's cute as a button too! I really like most female fronted bands. My mom would play cranberries religiously growing up. probably where it came from. AGAINSTME! is one of my all time favorites ever since discovering them freshman year of highschool. I got to see them at FYF in LA years ago... was very cool.

Here's one from a local band that I enjoy. My favorite song of theirs is '' I was in your video '' but couldn't find a link to it on youtube. It's easily found on spotify though.

Awsome tune T... I really love that generation / genre of music. Being into old school choppers, its tunes like this that I jam to while wrenching on the motor bike. I have the easy rider soundtrack on play quite often.

Yeah, I've always been a fan of female vocalists/bands. I grew up on 80's metal but the first time I heard Juliana Hatfield, my tastes expanded pretty damn quickly lol. And I'm glad they did, bc while I still love Metallica, Anthrax, GnR, Skid Row and such, I couldn't imagine not rocking out to Sleater-Kinney, Tilt, Jenny Lewis/Rilo Kiley, Tegan and Sara, and on and on.

Also - the Exbats are freaking great. Thank you for posting that. Going down a youtube rabbit hole with their videos right now. Kill Yr Boyfriend is like Ramones/Femmes all mashed up and re-imagined with a modern day perspective. And Mr. Bucky is just funny as hell. Great stuff.

I like a lot of Tegan and Sara tracks and generally enjoy their sound.

ever heard of Lianne LaHavas? I don't know anything about her other than this Tiny Desk concert that came up on autoplay once. The whole concert is worth checking out but this track is pure magic:

Cool that you consider Against Me! a female fronted band with no need to elaborate
good tunes

Hell yeah!

Been listening to this album a lot lately:

If you don't know the history on these dudes... do yourself a favor and check out the documentary on them, A Band Called Death. Their story is pretty amazing. Basically playing 'punk' before there was 'punk' and then disappeared for decades, only to be rediscovered fairly recently.

I'm the same way and I really don't know why. It's not intentional, but it's a real thing. My wife teases me about it.

Since there's some good punk in here, and we're talking about female bandleaders, I kind of have to post this.

And one from Warpaint. They're one of my favorite bands around today and they're crazy good.

(I lied, it's two songs)
