Cinelli LA84 pursuit bars or something similar

those LA84's are hot http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=23823
anyone know where to get a good deal on em? look like theyd be pricey.
any bullhorns out there that are similar to this style?

Nitto makes a model that is very similar to the LA84's in shape. The Cinelli is hard to find due to being out of production for a good while. You also will need to take into consideration they are 26.4 diameter at the center section, so you will need a Cinelli stem for that size as well.

if i recall correctly, bikecult NYC still has la84's on their website...i'd get a pair, but i just plain like nitto stems too much.

sidenote: i've been on the hunt for a pair of bars like this basically since the beginning of time (curved shoulders, good forward flat section) and when there was finally a pair of the 3ttt moser bars on ebay, i didn't even bid on them. why? as i sat on my living room floor surrounded by the MULTITUDE of handlebars i've bought over the last year, i realized that i still use my nitto b123s 90% of the time. steel bars just feel so much better.

that said, i think that the ultimate bullhorn of this particular sexage will be a chop/flipped nitto b127 (ergo) crmo bar. which i will attempt, and share my experience with everyone as soon as i have 60 bucks to drop on yet another set of bars.

Personnaly, I like the Nitto RB017. Nice and light due to being heat-treated aluminum, and a nice drop while retaining enough flat section to rest your hands.

American Cyclery has some of those Nitto Pursuit bars. A bit different but nice.

Yeah, that's where I got my RB017s. You've seen them, they were on the blue bike I was riding on the graffiti ride. American was only charging like $70 for them when I bought, now they want $100, at least that's what the tag said when I was in there on saturday...

I have the Cinelli LA84's, and they're okay. They're kinda flexy, and mine are way too wide (44cm). I'm waiting for the mailman to bring my Cinelli Tempo bars. Since I need something with an upward bend to emulate drops, I think the Tempo will do me better. Otherwise, they have a great bend to them, and a nice drop. Mine appear to have been cut (they're not as long as other's I've seen).

$36. Not a bad deal!

They are real long, I have an unused pair in storage. My old set was sharpened to a cone shape people would get out of the way when they saw them .. That worked only for 2 months.. DON"T TRY THIS!! LEGAL PROBLEMS!!

42cm? dag yo...that's like a condor's wing span for me. 36-38cm(MAX) is good for me.

yeah, 42's are a bit wide for me... usually run 40's
ill get em anyway and see how well the work out for me. if i dont like them, i can always sell them on ebay as 'rare cinelli bullhorns' and maybe make a profit

sometimes the measurements can be screwy-- my first pair of bullhorns were 42's but were equal in width to my 40cm profile stokers. hopefully, it will be the same case with these.

thanks for the link, vomitron
