First Week Fixed
After riding a singlespeed as my daily transport for just over a year I finally took the plunge and built up a fixed gear which I completed last weekend. Having survive my first week commuting into Central London on it I just felt the need to share a few thoughts.
First up it's a hoot. I haven't stopped grinning since I got on the bike on Monday morning.
Second, it's not a difficult as I had expected either in terms of remembering to pedal all the time, slowing/stopping using the pedals or in terms of spinning like a loon down the hills.
Finally, eveything seems to happen a lot faster (in a good way) on a fixed road bike than it did on a SS MTB on slicks.
I realise that this won't be that interesting for most of you but thanks for listening.

Hey IronHorse, that's awesome! I too started riding fixed about four days ago. I LOVE it. I converted an old Bianchi road bike, repainted, made some bullhorns for it. This is my first conversion. It's been cold as hell here, but I still manage to grin while I ride as well. If you get a chance, post some pics of your ride. Here's mine, "Bella".

Anyone know Andrea's email?
I took this pic back in '02 outside Condor on Grays Inn rd. His brand new custom track bike. First time 'sans brakes'. Actually, I think it was his first track bike. I told him he was bloody mad

I liked watching that show "Peep Show" on BBC, but it's not on anymore, what gives??
That was the most hilarious show I've ever seen. Was it cancelled?
