fork question
It will soon be time to replace the fork on my bike. It's a threaded tube. Are the threaded still available? Seems that all I've been able to find are the threadless ones. I've got a mid 80's bianchi track.
2 tips that I'm sure have been posted, but just in case: 1. If you use electric tape, try using tommy tape. It works just as well and it only sticks to itself, not the bike. 2. Keirin grips - wet a paper towel with soapy water then twist the paper towel down inside the grip. Lube it up real good and it should slide on like butter. |
There are plenty of threaded forks available... some really nice track specific ones too. You could switch to threadless if you wanted by getting a threadless fork, a new threadless headset, and a threadless stem, but theres not much point switching if you don't have to.
