Is a 180mm crank acceptable in place of a 165mm?

Is a 180mm crank acceptable in place of a 165mm?
I am trying to decide if I should bid on a 3 piece crank set on Ebay. I verified the length of the 1 piece crank on my Trek is 165mm, so I am looking at another 6/10". Would this be acceptable on the Dyno Glide project?

Check out https://www.peterwhitecycles.com/fitting.htm for a good place to start. If you already had it laying around, I'd say go for it. Since you're purchasing one, at least look for some 170s.

Inseam is around 30", thanks for the link I'll take a look.
I did not measure my Fisher Aquila but will do that tonight, if feels OK but I'm am more concerned about pedal slap on the Dyno Glide.

if you're going for torque, and it's not a fixed gear bike, 175-180mm is just about right for a 30" inseam for certain types of riding. if you're looking at bmx cranks, which i suspect you are if they're 180mm, it might be hard to find an economical set of 170mm. you could find a set of 175mm much easier.
