how a hub looks
 

Anyone here think that a silver rear hub laced to black spokes and black rims (in addition to black front hub, spokes and rims) would look odd?

It's either living with this situation to convert bike w/vertical drops to ss/fixed or it's buying a new wheelset; the hub manufacturer doesn't do black.

Any other ideas most welcome.

I do! I think it looks pretty good especially if you have other silver or chrome parts to accent it.
