nitto mustache bars

anybody got any side view pics that show the drop in them?

skitbraviking 02-12-05 10:28 PM

No, but I like them. Buy them for me.

"smooth talk" always wins me over, too.

the nitto moustache bars are a great idea. i love the way they look, i love the way they feel. what i DO NOT LIKE is the 25.4 clamp diameter. i've heard tell of a version that uses 26.0, but have yet to see a set in person. even one of our distributors touts having this version of them, but, trying to order them has proved futile, as with our last order we asked for one 25.4 and one 26.0, and just recieved two 25.4s.

there's nothing wrong with 25.4, really...it's just finding a stem that they fit into properly can be a bit difficult. it's just....one of those things that annoys me.

what about the old piece-of-pop-can shim trick? never done it personally. reliable? safe?

I was thinking about getting my hands on a flat bar this spring, but haven't found any in 26. Was also thinking about moustaches. bars, that is. I don't look good with the hair type.

rivendell has the 26's

with a flat bar, the soda can shim works fine (i use it to fit my 25.4 riser bars into my 26.0 pearl stem). you can't produce much torque with a flat bar.

I have both the 25.4 and the 26.0. I think I got the 26.0 bars from Rivendell. The 25.4's came from Sheldon if I'm not mistaken.

ink1373, those tires are Parriba Super Pro Courses I got thru Nashbar on sale a couple years ago. I've never been able to find more of those.

I got my moustache bars from Cycles Gaansari along wth a nice Kalloy stem he sells just for these bars. Reach is only 45mm and the quill is a longish 250mm. The quill is steel (maybe cromo) and the stem part is alloy. Here is a pic:

By the way, On-One in the UK is offering thier own moustache bar. Gaansari stocks it. It's black in color but besides that I couln't tell any other difference.

word. my own personal curiosity about them isn't strong enough yet to justify paying retail prices for them, but it's good to know that somebody out there has them.
