Back in the day when I was doing it I used a Manhattan Portage bag which was insulated from moisture. I did have a gnarly cleft in my chest from over stuffing the bag after a while, but I'm guessing that could be remedied with one of those car seat belt cushions over the strap. I guess that could apply to any single strap bag you choose.

Okay fellas, believe it or not, I'm still waiting for my bag!!!!!
Pat from PAC said they ran into a problem with their supplier. And she didn't have any more army green left which I was set on, so she special ordered some for me. So I can't blame anyone for the delay really, but just freakin dying to get it already.., Yes, pics coming as soon as it gets here! I think it shipped yesterday. Dave |

Whats the largest capacity roll-top bag ? I bought a Timbuk2 Especial Tres but its way too heavy & isn't as large of a capacity as I would like. -Thanks. |

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...MATE-OS-Review I ended up ordering a Timbuk2 Classic in XL. |
So, my PAC ultimate came yesterday. Definitely nice, but big for me. I will try to get some pics up in a little bit. I might sell it though as it is a bit bigger than I thought. Oh well, just sucks i waited so long for it. And, Pat says they are not making anymore bags for 9 months and I got the last order in. So, good luck to anyone who plans on getting one anytime soon. But, the bag is quality made, and really cool with the strap options and whatnot. I will probably just get some iphone pics in a little and upload them, i don't have a good camera. But you guys have seen it all before, so whatever.

dave Second point, we all know chrome bags are great, but mission workshop bags are made by the same guys that started chrome. Personally, I see too many people with chrome bags, and wanted something different. I really like the comfort of the bag, all of the straps are really easy to adjust. And if you are always adding and subtracting things from your bag, this is important. Also, the single chest stabilizer strap is all you need to keep things put. It works very well. The bag is a bit wide, as i am 5' 7", 150lbs, my elbows touch the bag, but its never really annoying or in the way. very comfortable. The bag is definitely built to last, and completely weather proof (no bag is water proof, i dont know of any bag that will survive a drop in the lake). I really like the light grey lining too, makes things easy to find in the bag. My average pack is a 15" macbook pro (plus sleeve), pencil case (full of pens and such), 18oz klean kanteen, apple, binder, calculator, kryptonite cable and u-lock and other little misc items. All fits with room to spare, so no worries about picking something up on my way home. I shoved chipotle for two on top of all that into my bag the other day after class. I only have a few complaints about the bag, though i have found solutions. First is that i do feel like the strap rides up to my neck at times when the bag is all full, BUT connecting the stabilizer strap is problem solved there. Next the front pockets are supposed to be big enough for a u-lock, width is ok, but I must have the biggest ulock you can get cause mine doesn't fit all the way vertically. Solution, i use the clips and straps to hold it into place outside of the bag (let me know if you want to see photos). Finally, I was a bit bummed about the rummy not having a laptop pouch, but i have a laptop sleeve from my last bag, i just toss the laptop in the main compartment with the sleeve on, and it works great. |
For 15 bucks, you can get the Timbuk2 "Deluxe Pad" which is nicer than the standard one. It would be way cheaper than dropping 150 on a new bag.

Chrome don't get you home, but makes great bags. The large is perfect size.
