SH-51 or SH-56 Cleats

Do you use the cleats that come with the pedals or buy the "multi-release (56)" cleats???

stock cleats

The multirelease cleats are dangerous.

I have the multi-release cleats. I haven't found them to be dangerous at all. My feet point way out, though, so I need a cleat that doesn't require quite as much ankle twisting to be able to unclip.

When the SH-51 wears out, it *becomes* "multi-release".:D

When I replaced the pedals on my MTB, they came with black cleats. I understand they are the single release. I can't tell any difference from the old ones that I think were multi-release.

Have not had any problems with the 51 cleats so far.

Thanks for the replies. I havn't had problems with the standard cleats and there seems to be no grand support for the multi-release version. I'll just save the twelve bucks and pedal on.
