Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Aww man, I'm not going but know a large group of people going. Perhaps I should further investigate. I think there's still time to sign up. If I do decide to go, I'll definitely hit you up.

If I was to buy that bike, I think he'd hate me
The number I was told was 650 total made. Other then that is there anything else different? Lastly I think he would be happy that one of you got one haha.

Today, I got a bike with gears. Fixed is a blast but there's some things here in Tucson (namely Mt. Lemon) that really require derailleurs (inb4 HTFU ).

2006 Specialized Allez Sport with 9 speed 105 (both FD and RD), Mavic Cosmos/Ksyrium wheels F/R, Salsa bars and Selle Italia saddle. Can't wait to do some serious climbing with this thing!

I actually love the fall weather. Today I rode home from work in my work clothes (left my bike clothes in the office locker room yesterday and they took them to lost and found ) and it was perfect - sunny, warm but not so warm you get sweaty. And the cold nights are awesome. If it stayed like this I'd never turn on the heat. Electric blankets FTW.

I can't find any of my couplers for my air compressor. I'm annoyed. Can't air my tires.

co2 releases just as fast, if not faster than a compressor @ 120psi.
if you're having trouble, don't blame it on a lack of air compressor.

Idk man, air compressor = near infinite trial and error attempts to set the bead.

Will everybody just shut up and quit being jackasses?

Today I contemplate once again not contributing to BFSSFG any longer.

Eff the teabags though: make your own or find a Filipino grocery store and get the instant stuff.

Today I learned that there are no bike parking options in the building at le nouveau day job. I also work near Grand Central so not really trying to lock up anywhere outside. So now I'm looking at Bromptons on eBay/CL.

Yesterday I finished my last project and have listed it for sale. Heres the final look at my 1992 Schwinn Paramount PDG Series 7 650c (worlds longest bike name.) This bike handles so weird, im not quite sure what Schwinn was thinking at the time. These bikes were intended to be road racing bikes not tri bikes. It has a full Shimano 600 group set. Note its only a 58cm but the 650 wheels and extended head tube to fit the smaller fork make this bike look HUGE in photos. Also the airbrushed blobs on the "purple freak" paint job are pretty cool in person.

Think im going to have a black eye soon because some dudes were cutting down trees and tossed a big branch into the bike lane and I swerved but didn't go far enough and the end of the branch caught me right in my eye.

Also, bought some wool socks and they are amazing.

Today I got this email:

"Hi there,

Sorry, I don't want to buy your bike - I'm just writing to affirm that this is in fact the nicest Mercier Kilo TT Pro ever. Great build; I'm sure you're sorry to see it go.

All best and good luck selling,
- Drew"

Made my day.
