Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I encountered this little guy on my ride tonight. He was hit by a car, had a broken leg and was bleeding pretty badly. Unfortunately, I couldn't do much for the little guy but hopefully he realizes that someone cared enough to pick him up off the road and show him love for a few moments. I'm sorry I couldn't do more little guy.

No...that probably would have been more humane than just leaving the little guy. I tried calling the nearest vet but they were already closed. Honestly, it's not like I could have ridden with him anyway.

On the upside, a coyote or an owl will have a delicious meal tonight...circle of life, but still its always worse when the animal is cute.

What angers me the most is the idiot that hit him and didn't care enough to help the little guy.

May not have even seen him and rabbits can be tough to judge on path. They tend to go in a zig zag path.

Slow day today... nursing an opiate induced hangover but at least I was able to get up and about later in the afternoon and get a few things done.

Finished re-building the bar / beater bike... was too dark to take a picture when I finished but have to say the newly built lighter wheels, much lighter tyres, and new fenders really worked out well.

I enjoy riding this old thing so much and prefer road conversions for the road... thinking that the Kabuki is going to a new home since my friend covets it and if I want another track bike I should just fire up the torch and build one... and I do have a few ideas there.

Today I decided the FG needs drops and hoods. And what the hell, maybe a brake too.

Today I replaced my friends 27" tube. He got one of those tubes that had the sealant in them... Ugh, what a pain. Took me forever to air it up, lucky it was only 55psi.

Well he could always say he was just wiping it down and airing up the tires for them.

You didn't see the garbage pile. It looked like they cleaned out a garage or basement and there was a ton of stuff on the curb. I scored a big wooden filing cabinet too.
