Today I got to watch a goldsprint event IRL finally. Still too much of a broken bone to participate though.

It was cool to finally see after talking about it with friends every winter. Didn't hurt that my teammates crushed it, but maybe if you're cat 1/2 you should bow out?

It's pretty much about cadence, since the rollers don't give much resistance. You have to be able to explode from zero to top speed really fast though, since the races are usually really short, so having sprint ability helps a lot.

Today I sold some parts via craigslist.
The ad was clear that I would not deliver the parts but the guy asked me to drive about 10 miles away to meet him off the interstate and I reluctantly agreed. I was a little aggravated about it, grumbling to myself on the way as I drove there. We transact and the guy hands me the price + $10 extra cash as appreciation for me having driven to meet him.
He got a sweet deal. I got $10 more than I asked. There is hope for mankind.

Today I took delivery of a set of Dura Ace NJS track hubs with Araya ADX-5 rims. 7000 yen (about $65) delivered. They roll super smooth and fast. Also got a Nitto B225 bar and tall ass Technomic stem for 1500. My keirin townie is starting to come together quick.

Hopefully soon. I still need to get a crankset (was thinking Sugino 75, been on the lookout for a deal) and do some clean up on the frame. Was thinking about a more comfortable saddle than a kashima as well.
Ah yeah, haven't settled on a front rack either.
I may have posted pics of the frame up stream in this thread.

Well, I got out of the hospital today.
My body went haywire around 11:00 PM Tuesday and by 2:00 AM I could not lift myself from the floor to the sofa and was dry heaving uncontrollably and shaking/shivering violently. I had my daughter call 911 and by 4:00 AM I was in the ER hooked to an IV. Oxygen was 90% so they kept me overnight.
A side effect of anti nausia meds is drowsiness and it was a godsend. I slept on and off for about 30 hours. My calendar is clear through the weekend.
I encourage anyone with any symptoms to get to the doctor right away and get tested.

@TimothyH - glad you are doing better!! That drug induced sleep can be a real treat. Phenergan?
Today I ordered drops and hoods for the TK2. Really digging the Ritchey WCS EvoCurve that I have on my road bike so I opted for those and some SRAM brake levers/hoods. Pretty excited to get those on the bike and dialed in.

Thanks for the well wishes all.
I'm able to function at a basic level - cook a bowl of oatmeal, shower, move up and down the stairs and look at the computer for short periods - but it takes a lot out of me.
Again, anyone with symptoms should go to the doctor immediately and get tested. The doctor at the hospital said that this year's strain has lots of otherwise healthy people in with complications including lots of pneumonia. Don't hesitate if you feel ill.
@TenSpeedV2 - they asked me if I wanted to go home and I almost said no . I've no idea what they gave me for nausea at the hospital but right now I'm on Ondansetron 4mg, the little dissolving tabs.
I hope you all stay healthy and pray that you don't get this. Actually, I hate some of you and I hope you do get it. No, just kidding. It sucks.

Tim,
Glad you're feeling better, Sent you a pm.
Today I was looking at the All City Big Block frame. Anybody own one? I'm wondering what the ride quality is like, looks like a very high quality frame!

If you are willing to wait and think it will fit, we can build up my Bianchi Pista frame for you. It is a size 55.
It might take a couple of weeks or a month or two before it becomes available though.

That's a pretty sweet frame! It would probably be close, my only concern would be getting enough rise for the handlebars. I usually need a little bit more rise than most. I'd definitely have to give you something for it though.

Today I tried out my new Garmin Edge 1000 for navigation. Sweet! I have an Edge 25, but it has the minimum navigation aids. The full map really rocks. I can't wait to do the AP Rando fleshe with my new toy.

Holy crap @TimothyH that is serious. I'm glad that your daughter was there for you and that you made it out OK. Get well soon!
I got back late last night from Az for the Valley of the Sun stage race (cat 3). We went with a squad of five strong riders (including yours truly) and I knew that after the stage 1 TT we would have multiple high on the GC.
Short Version: We won!!!!!!
