I don't usually run into the guy nowadays but it looked just like the top one; initially looking like the bottom one.
Only difference is his has that laser engraved number out of 2000 on the nose rivet because it was 1st batch. But it appears the ones in the picture are of later make without the limited edition hype and the second one is working its way there to the 1st one.

Just learned this as well, and I'm still waiting on delivery of one. I guess I'm OK with it.
A member here has example photos of two that are 8 months apart.

The limited edition ones only came in slate or natural FYI
So yeah it was a slate one but I call it black anyway.
Maybe I should give the narrower C15 a chance.

The thing about cambiums is that the top layer of fabric that's vulcanized onto the rubber saddle shell is wholly exposed.

Actually, I guess it would be pretty naive of me to hope for the color to remain. It's just dyed cotton after all. And we know what happens to T-shirts and hats that spend their weekends at the beach.

Today I snagged a Craigslist gem. 1976 Schwinn Varsity, 100% showroom stock including the original tires. No rust on the chrome.
Gunna build me a Hairnet bike......it's 66cm C-T.

Damn you! I would like one of those for the novelty and to just ride around casually with a nice tourist handle bar.

Caution sign should read "Wet rims require near infinite stopping distance."

After I paid the guy (in the front yard) we struck up a conversation about old Schwinns. He's retired, and long-story-short, a professional flipper to bring in a few extra bucks. We went to his garage and it was like wet dream of vintage Schwinns and Raleighs. Multiple Varsities, Continentals, you name it.
I am keeping his contact info.
More accurately, "Wet rims eliminate all braking capabilities."

Finally got my act together today and sent out a huge email to start the process of fundraising for the AIDS/LifeCycle ride that I'm doing in June. Never done any sort of fundraising before so this should be an interesting experience!!

That's exactly what it's going to become. Turtle transportation to the park for disc golf.

Today I got a flat on the rollers, WTF. The Flat Fairie must have punished me for using that crappy tube that was headed for the trash, serves me right.
At least I didn't have to walk far to get a replacement wheel .

Rollers can be very tough on tires. The friction causes the rear tire to heat up and increase the tire pressure considerably. OTOH, if you don't inflate the rear tire sufficiently, the tire wear will be considerable, so you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I use tubulars on the rollers, because they can be inflated at a much higher pressure w/o risk of a blowout.

I do find that if i use a bike with narrow tires it is a lot easier to pedal and balance the bike, and the opposite is true if tire pressure is low.

My blu ray laser lens in my ps3 is dying good thing it's an easy fix, just swapping out. Going to try and clean it first though. Boo
