I actually have a consultation set up for about 3 weeks from now to discuss it in more detail. A number of years ago when this same thing happened with my left knee another orthopedist in a different state where I lived told me it would involve severing, moving, and refusing some of the tendons and ligaments and possibly some musculature to straighten things out. But yeah like 6 months of rehab after. Then they see if it worked on the one knee. Then do the other knee and rehab another 6 months. Fuuuunnnnnnnn.

But I don't need it right away so I'll probably see how long I can go before doing it.

My uncle had to have that done to his shoulders. His condition is way worse than mine, his shoulders could/would dislocate in his sleep. Good luck man

Did you get it done?

Maybe they could use an inanimate carbon rod instead

Having hardware installed is awesome. I've got a bunch of straps, plates, rods and screws and I highly recommend it. The healing process is FAST and you feel stable and strong right after the procedure, not all tentative and weak and wobbly for weeks like when the bones heal unassisted. I nuked my tibia and fibula in an unintentional high speed dismount from a motorcycle (along with ribs, clavicle and punctured lung) and the ER Docs fixed me right up. The very next day they had me walking up and down stairs without crutches to keep the blood circulating. Seventeen years later and zero issues.

Weekend off racing, gf out of town, gonna ride tons!

Hit up the "Chili's" race ride this morning, plus a little action on Fiesta Island before.

Going to drive to my parent's place and do a ~90 min mtb ride in the hills around their place shortly.

Tomorrow I'll cruise up and down the coast for 4 hours. Should be a 75-80 mi. ride.

Today I was planning on doing the LA Marathon crash ride, then I found out what it's actually going to be -- slow ride behind a police escort. I can think of so many things I'd rather be dong at 5:00 am.

Can't beat friends coming over at midnight bearing new vegan ice cream! We had just hung out an hour before played some games and watched shred videos and then this. Stressful day into an epic night!

Today I started building a lego modular building I've had in the closet for about a year, while watching march madness. It's the most wonderful time of the year!

I was biking on a path today on my CX bike, and this babe on a mtn bike was riding towards me and (I thought she said) "nice crotch!" and I said "why thank you!". I then realized that she was talking about my bike which is a Trek Crockett..

The one time it was warm enough to not wear arm warmers for an early AM MTB ride, I encounter poison ivy.

Today I decided to review my ride and run logs from last year. I added up the totals and found that in 2016 I rode my bikes 2000 miles. I didn't have to round much to get such a tidy number. It actually came to 1999.8. I did 100 rides, with an average distance of 20 miles each.

I also ran 47 times for a total of 219 miles (average of almost 4.7 miles each).

Also, today I switched my thermostat from heat to cool, and turned on the icemaker in my fridge. This is more than a month earlier than I normally do this. Global warming, baby !
