mini velo fixies?

Found a bit of a soft spot for these, anyone agree or own one? Hardly anyone in the UK sells them and I want a bit of information or reviews before committing to one...

I have an Alton with 451 wheels. Fun bike, super maneuverable. I have it set up kinda like a large BMX bike with slick tires. This is my choice bike for attempting daft tricks.

Like with any mini-velo, the small wheels let you accelerate very quickly and the reduced gyro effect make it very nimble.

It is a such fun and unintimidating bike that even my trouble and strife will have go on it.

Yeah I like it a lot.

Thinking of getting the Alton Fixie, but no stand over height info. I have a 28" inseam. Would I fit that?

I think the frame is something like a 49cm so I think you will have no problems with stand over.
However, just to be sure, I will measure it when I get home tonight.

EDIT: in case you haven't seen it here is an old thread about this bike.

That would be great if you could please measure the stand over height. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!

Right. It is 28 1/4 inches to the top of the top tube.

I am assuming 28 inches is your pant size inseam not your actual cycling inseam.

Thanks again! I looked up cycling inseam and mine seems to be around 29.5"

I am getting back to casual bike riding again after 20+ yrs.

why are people so concerned with standover height? its meaningless unless you intend on standing with your bike between your legs for extended periods of time

Enjoying the Alton Fixie bike. Running it single speed. Changed seat and grips. Having a blast getting back to casual riding and learning how to maintain the bike. Mini velo size fits in back of cr-v (front wheel off).

Good to hear you are enjoying your new bike. Cheers!

I replaced my front axle with a QR axle to make front wheel removal easier. I love how easily it fits in the back of my car.

Here is a recent pic taken on the New River trail in VA.

Cool pic! Hoping to get a QR front in the future. Happy riding!
