9 dollar tires are probably really good.

thanks, i tried a google search, and that website didnt pull up for me. i also triedebay and amazon, and all i could find were 700c tires. thanks again for the help tejano. ive also noticed that a lot of people on this site love making smug remarks. doesnt help the hipster perception, but then again i think thats what hipsters want to begin with.

people here are actually mostly really nice (some enjoy being d-bags). a lot also tend to have mood swings. on a good day, this is a nice place for advice/tips/answers.

I'm a hipster, and you're the one with the orange tires.
Got it. |

9 dollar tires.

true. but they seem to be the only ones that fit the bill.
just hope the OP doesn't destroy his face as a result. |
I agree, there are lots of nice, helpful people on this forum, but ive read a lot of threads where there are people leaving sarcastic remarks in response to people who have simple questions. A lot of members join the forum because they arent know it alls when it comes to bikes. And i dont have orange tires, thats why i asked the forum. They are actually for a friend of mine who is a big broncos fan that wanted to build a bronco themed bike. Hes not tryning to build anything high end, he just wanted something to ride around town on everynow amd then.

The reason you see so many of those "smug" remarks is threefold.
1. The answers to those simple questions are typically simple themselves, and can most often be found in approximately 5 seconds using Google. 2. The questions have often been asked, answered and discussed ad nauseum in several other threads, most notably in the sticky threads at the top of the page. 3. The questions themselves are often stupid. I know many people have been taught that there are no such things as stupid questions, but that just isn't true. |

You have a major attitude problem. |
It's interesting that the person who posted:

I didn't suggest that the OP was stupid, so no I'd not equate my post with item 3 of SG's post.

seau was speaking in general on this forum, not about this specific thread. and i agree with him for the most part.

I didn't have a problem with a guy taking 5 minutes to find something, I'm talking about the 9 dollar tire remarks. Not everyone is trying to run expensive parts, I was looking for tires for a friend who wants to putt around on his bike every now and then and wanted orange tires. I told him I didn't know off hand, but I visit this forum that has a lot of good info and I'd ask for him.
I'm just saying, there are way too many snarky comments that some guys are just dying for an opportunity to make. Its like some bro dude is surfing forums looking for topics to add a smart remark to that offers no information. Who does that!? That's like waiting at a gas station for someone to come in and ask for directions just so you could knock them for being lost. If that's what you're into, you're probably the type of person who probably doesn't have a lot of friends, or you do have friends but they all have the same uppity attitude as you do. Anyway, thanks again for that link, that's actually a great website that I had never seen before. Much appreciated. |

because you insulting people is much better than them posting snarky comments, right?
sure, sarcasm isn't always helpful, but its got a good amount of truth to it. I would definitely not trust $9 tires, whether they were for occasionally tooling around on or not. having a stick up your a** isn't going to help you get a decent reaction on any forum, this one in particular. Google "orange bike tires 27" and that link is the very first result. I'm pretty sure that would fall under common sense, not "Mad Google Skilz" |
arguing about proper internet behavior will get us nowhere. the topic has been addressed and the need for this thread has died. hopefully the OP will have it closed.
