Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Not at all. "SS" generally means a (non-fixed) singlespeed. So you're good.

It's not FG, so the slack is within normal tolerances. Glad you dig it though.

Here's my favorite FG beater ever, a c.1971 Gitane TdF with a Phil BB, Stronglight 93s, Weinmann 500 sidepulls, a Zeus top nut on a Stronglight P3 headset, Kogswell sealed bearing hubs laced to Mavic MA-3s and some Pasela 28 mm tires. I originally built it to be a bike I took on vacation and it has become my favorite grab and go bike for early morning rides ...

This was my SS beater. It was a 74ish ccm I miss it :'( hopefully the person I sold it to is actually enjoying it. I'm really wanting a road bike with wide 26\" wheels again (not an anchor like this tho.)
sorry for the fuzzy pic lol

Don't let the tires and relatively clean state fool you, my FG is a total beater.

Built this up Easter Sunday between cooking, eating, talking. Had an old Schwinn frame and random parts laying around. Built up easily.

Bought the frame back in 1996 and recently turned it into a singlespeed with stuff from the parts bin
