I have upgrade-itis and need some help
 

So I'm new (obviously with a glance you will see this is my first post so be kind):)
I recently purchased a 2013 SE Draft and after riding it a few times I'm in the middle of shopping for a few upgrades.

Before i ask the main question I'd like to say that i have been doing a lot of searching and a lot of the info I've gathered led me to this forum which is why I'm here in the first place also id just like to say im a bike noob but not mechanically slow (in college for my ASE licence cars are my thing)

Anyway i bought the bike and before i close my cart on amazon the last part i wanna add to it is a new crankset , obviously the bikes new and doesn't need it just yet but i personally think its ugly , I've tried finding the correct specs for the bike so i don't buy a part that doesn't fit but i don't know what to look for.
I've read on here in a few different threads a good way to go is with pakes and i found a gold one that i liked but don't know what size i would need or if i would need a new bottom bracket aswell..
Can any of you help me out with this ?

If you have a size 49 or 52 bike, your crank arms will likely be 165mm in length. You can go longer with bigger frames, but it's not necessary. As for the bottom bracket type, you should contact SE. Common BB lengths are 103mm, 110mm, etc. The Pake crankset will work with either a 107mm or 110mm bottom bracket.

The SE bikes site just says that the bottom bracket is a "euro cartridge" version which just means that it's a standard diameter (68mm if memory serves me correctly).

Bottom brackets have a "spindle length" (i.e., how long they are) and an "interface" (i.e., how they attach to the crankarms). For a bottom bracket and a crankset to work together, the spindle length and the interface need to match. Pake cranks need 107mm or 110mm spindles and JIS square-taper interfaces.

You need to call SE and get some more info on the specs of their bottom bracket. Or, you can just buy the bike and take it to your local shop and have them figure it out. Removing crankarms is one of those "you need some special tools" kind of jobs, so you're going to wind up taking it to them anyway.

My bikes a 58 so I've seen Pakes at a 170 mm so I'm assuming that's what ill need

As for bottom brackets i guess ill need to buy a new one right ?

If you contact SE and they say that they have either 107mm or 110mm spindle length on the drafts, no you wouldn't need a new one.

So i contacted se and asked about the bracket spindle length and they told me this

"The Draft uses a cartridge bearing 68-115 sealed euro bottom bracket"
Can you guys help with what that means

68mm shell width, 115mm spindle length.

You need a new bottom bracket that matches the required spindle length of the crank you're going to use.

So I'm gonna guess for the pakes crank to be fitted to my bike i would need something with a
107mm spindle length and some thing with 68mm shell just to make sure the bottom bracket can fit my bike?

Yeah, you need a 68x110 or 68x107.

Either will work. GregJones says he has one. I wouldn't trust him though, he's old and weird.
