Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Last thread was a ****storm, and I never got a recommendation.

Although I realize now I wasn't very clear on my bikes' specifications.

I want some non-retention pedals for my single-speed coaster bike. I thought "fixie" as in "fixed-gear" just meant it had one gear and therefore couldn't switch gears. It USED to be a fixie, but I put a coaster on it. And I got rid of my toe-clip pedals, and I would like some clipless or whatever normal bike pedals, that will fit the look of a road cycle. And to clarify, I DO have brakes.

And to get rid of the budget whiners, I will spend up to $25. I just need some decent pedals. Not super-ultra-deluxe titanium carbide auto-clip Tour de France pedals with +1 Endurance.

EDIT: Ok, so I actually did get one recommendation from GMJ, sarcastic as it was.

Just get a pair of platforms if it's a coaster setup.

Are BMX pedals really so hard to find in today's world?

Clipless pedals are the ones the require shoes that attach to the pedals. I think what you mean are platform pedals. Not clips, not clipless, not straps. If you want some that go with the road look, get some Sylvan road pedals, like so:

Ahh ****, well then you are right, I do not want clipless pedals. Platform pedals are what I want.

Odyssey Twisted PC Pedals. If your going to run something without clips or it be a clipless pedal mind as well get something with a little surface area for your foot. They come in a range of colors and are built rather nicely for what they are.

Yeah, not sure what was up with "that guy"

I've got these on my road bike cruiser.

Works good and I'm happy.

Could you not just remove the clips from your existing pedals ?

Well then, I retract my offer of the five cent pedals. The kid around the corner is gonna give me five bucks for them.

Hate to take advantage of a kid, but he made the offer. It will make up for some of the patches the all bum off me.
